Shore Points Amateur Radio Club Minutes of the meeting held May 21, 2015 at the Brigantine Community Center The meeting commenced at 7:39 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance and introductions. Six voting members, one guest were present. Club Treasurer, Bob Webb read the financial report for April. There was a complete accounting of all of the club's financial assets in the amount of $775.86. Dave Holmes motioned to accept the report, Rick Hitchen seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes of the previous meeting, held on April 16, 2015, were read by the club secretary, David Holmes. Rick Hitchen motioned to accept the minutes, Gary Paul seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Gary Paul had nothing to report for the repeater report. The floor was then opened to old business. The SPARC two meter net is up to 1944 nets leaving a little over a year to go to hit the 2000 mark. The 440 net is doing fine. Ten meters is not ideal for the SPARC HF net, 40 meters would be better. Field Day preparation discussions included; how do we set up Rick's antenna in light if the missing sign post, Art Masker mentioned installing a new ground rod and offered to bring his gas grill, Rick discussed his equipment and Dave is taking care of the food and the club's grill. So far, Field Day is good to go. On the topic of the radio room, Rick emailed Jim Bennett and invited him to the meeting but Jim did not attend. Dave is compiling the contact list for the club's new email account. The floor was then opened to new business. A new membership application was submitted by George Haywood K2GLH, Gary motioned to accept George's membership, three people simultaneously seconded and the motion passed unanimously. At 8:31 PM, Rick motioned to close the meeting, Dave seconded and the meeting was adjourned. Immediately following the meeting a 50/50 drawing was held. George drew the winning ticket which was held by Art and the club netted $11.00.
